Prime Minister Gilani holds consultations with Pakistan Peoples Party leaders
Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani held a meeting with the prominent PPP leaders here in the PM House today to consult them on the convening of the All Parties Conference scheduled to be held on September 29th, 2011.
Those who were present in the meeting were Mr. Ahmed Mukhtar, Defence Minister, Mr. Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Leader of the House in Senate, Mr. Jahangir Badar, Secretary General PPP, Mr. Rehman Malik, Minister for Interior, Syed Khurshid Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Minister for Information, Senator Babar Awan, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf MNA, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira MNA and Mr. Nazar Muhammad Gondal MNA.
The Prime Minister is sending personal letter to the leaders of the political parties extending them invitation to participate in the Conference.
The letter mentions the imperatives to hold the Conference meant to give strategic direction to the nation in the wake of the security threats in the region.
Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, who will be returning immediately after her address to the General Assembly on 27th of September 2011, will brief the political leadership about the security situation in the region in general and in Pakistan in particular. The military leadership will also brief the participants who represent the entire political spectrum of the country.
