Punjab University Health Centre completes spray on campus to curb dengue virus
Lahore: On the instructions of Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, University Health Centre has completed spray of insecticides for prevention of dengue fever for second time, which was restarted on September 17. While the third phase is in progress and will be continued till the control of epidemic virus.
Spray teams, comprising 4-15 members, have been carrying out insecticide spray task in different parts of both campuses daily. Almost all hostels, departments and residential colony have been disinfected trice with this continuous spray of insecticides.
Moreover, Health Centre has also been providing medical treatment and diagnostic facility to faculty members, students and employees to curb dengue virus on emergency basis. The number of patients visiting the Health Centre has also been increased since the outbreak of epidemic of dengue fever. The Health Centre laboratory has been performing more than 100 tests in a day and charging Rs 60/- for CBC test facility from non-entitled patients.
