Pakistan’s Ambassador Designate to Norway Called on Prime Minister Gilani
Islamabad: Mr. Ishtiaq Hussain Andrabi, Pakistan’s Ambassador designate to Norway, called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani here today to seek guidance and priorities of the government to be pursued during his stay in the country of his accreditation.
The Prime Minister said that Norway was an important country where a large number of Pakistanis hailing from Gujrat, Kharain, Lala Musa and Jhelum are settled there and had been contributing in the country’s economy in a worthwhile manner.
It was good to know that some Pakistanis have been elected as members in the Norwegian Parliament, said the Prime Minister. Pakistani are well entrenched in the host society and are rendering valuable contributions in the economies of Pakistan and Norway, he added.
The Designate ambassador said that he would promote the country’s diplomatic, commercial and investment interests besides mobilizing the Pakistani community to become a true ambassador of goodwill.
The ambassador also promised to play a pro-active role in the Investment Conference being organized by Telenor Pakistan — a success story in the telecommunication sector in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that Ministry of Information Technology and Board of Investment will extend full support in the endeavour..
The Prime minister also asked the Ambassador to extended an invitation on his behalf to the Norwegian monarch to visit Pakistan on the date convenient to him
