Karachi, April 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):Khalid Tawab, Senior Vice President FPCCI has welcomed the announcement of lifting of ban on new gas connection on high rise buildings and residential projects by the government which is a good gesture for the builders and developers and construction sector.

Khalid Tawab demanded to lift ban on new gas connection to the industrial sector in Sindh immediately which has been adversely affecting industrial activity, exports of country and employment as well. He further said that due to non-availability of required gas the industrial sector is facing low productivity due to which they are unable to complete export orders in time.

He further said that lifting of ban on new gas connection will enable the industries in Sindh to run in full capacity which has now been running in around 45 to 50 percent production capacity. He further said that Sindh province has rich reserves of gas and now after import of LNG the deficiency has been covered and supply of the natural gas from Sindh province has been started to Punjab province. The LNG supply has also been started in Sindh through SSGC system.
