Teaching and non-teaching staff in education department be appointed on merit: Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar
Karachi, December 13, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that the Pakistan Peoples Part believes in supremacy of merit and all vacant positions in Education Department will be filled on merit basis and for the purpose transparency will completely be maintained. This he said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
He said the services of renowned institutions like IBA, SZABIST would be hired on district basis to appoint teaching and non-teaching staff in Education Department and these appointees would be regularised on performance, attendance and monitoring basis after five years. Irregular and inefficient staff would be terminated.
The Minister for Education categorically denied that there was any difference in Education Department and those who were spreading such news, wanted to get their ulterior motives. Meanwhile the Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has written a letter to the Chairman Anti-Corruption regarding School Special Budget for 2013-14 and 2015-16 that he had found certain misappropriation in supply of class material, library, laboratories, curriculum activities, sports and stationary , asking him to probe into the matter thoroughly and bring all those who were found involved in this mess.
The Minister for Education had also a meeting with Abdul Kadeer Jafer former Pakistan High Commissioner to UK in his office regarding establishing a school for less privileged children in Hub. He assured that the Education Department was ready to extend his helping hand in this regard.
