Meeting of 6th Joint Cooperation Committee will be held on 29th December in Beijing
Islamabad, December 25, 2016 (PPI-OT):The meeting of 6th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) will be held on 29th December in Beijing. The chief ministers of all provinces are expected to attend the meeting on the invitation of Federal Government. From Pakistan side Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal will lead the delegation while vice chairman of National Development and Reform (NDRC) will be from Chinese side.
In upcoming JCC the progress on various projects of CPEC will be reviewed and new projects will be discussed. Before JCC there will be a meeting of senior officials of both countries on 28th December .Federal Minister for Planning , Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal will reach Beijing on 26th December for the preparations of JCC and will also hold meeting with the Pakistan embassy officials .
In a statement while talking about the objectives of the upcoming JCC, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor is the biggest project of regional cooperation in the world. The progress on this project astonished the worlds which make Pakistan’s friends happy and enemies worried.
He said that we should not play politics on this national project as the success of this project depends on unity and commitment. He further added that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman should avoid to call CPEC as the project of one province. There is no big or small province and all provinces will get equal benefit from this project, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal maintained that earlier Imran Khan did not accept this project and termed it a fraud with people and now blaming federal government. However Federal government is helping Chief Minister KPK Pervaiz Khattak with open heart. He said that negative politics of Imran khan caused heavy loss to KPK government.
While talking about western route he said that 650 km from Gwadar to Surab has already completed and became functional within a short span of time which will help to uplift the socio-economic lives of the under developed areas of the Balochistan .He said that the road from Burhan to D.I .Khan would complete by 2018 and two lane road from D.I. Khan to Zhob road has also been approved.
The minister further said that the industrial zones will be established with the consultation of all the provinces. He further added that Gwadar projects will be discussed with the China officials in meeting. There are number of investors who want to invest in Gwadar Industrial zone said the minister. He said that the work on energy projects is in full swing and electricity will be produced from coal of Thar after 70 years.
Minister said that political stability and continuation of policies is the pre requisite to get benefits of this multi billion project. This is the project of young generation who will get direct benefits. He said that concerns about the CPEC should be raised in the Parliamentary committee on CPEC instead giving statements on TV.
