ER Rasheed spends night in open in protest
Srinagar, December 25, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed, spent a bone-chilling cold night in open sky to oppose issuance of domicile certificates to non-local Kashmiris in Jammu region. Engineer Abdur Rasheed along with his party activists held a sit-in exactly outside puppet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s residence on Gupkar Road. The temperature in Srinagar during the night was recorded at minus 4.4 degree Celsius.
Rasheed, who heads Awami Ittihad Party, started his protest 48-hour protest against the puppet regime’s move to issue domicile certificates to non-local Hindus called West Pakistan Refugees in Jammu region.
His party activists had arranged some blankets and Kangri (traditional firepots) to brave cold but it wasn’t enough. It was earlier understood that Rashid might shift to some nearby place and resume the protest the next morning, but, according to reports, the MLA sat on the pavement outside the CM residence and continued the sit-in before a police party forcefully shifted him to his residence next morning.
