Anti-India protests continue in IHK
Srinagar, March 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, despite stringent curfew, anti-India and pro-freedom protests were held in many parts of the Kashmir Valley against the killing of a student, Tahir Ahmad Sofi by Indian troops during indiscriminate firing in Baramulla town. Violent clashes were reported from Srinagar, Baramulla, Sopore, Trehgam, Langate, Bandipora, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and many other areas of the Valley even as authorities had imposed curfew and strict restrictions on Wednesday, police officials and eyewitnesses said.
Dozens of the people were injured in clashes with Indian paramilitary forces. The protesters were raising anti-India and “we want freedom” slogans.
Reports said that Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force personnel stopped ambulances carrying patients near Aali Kadal. The residents came out and held a protest demonstration against the Indian armed forces.
Reports said that police and CRPF personnel barged into residential houses in the area and beat up the people, ransacked household goods, damaged windowpanes and vehicles.
