Syed Ali Gilani urges people to follow MMM programmes
Srinagar, March 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the excesses committed by men in uniform and urged the people to follow the programmes of Muttahida Majlis-e-Mashawarat (MMM) in letter and spirit till the return of Afzal Guru’s body to Kashmir.
Syed Ali Gilani, who has been placed under house arrest in Srinagar, in telephonic address to demonstrators in Baramulla said that Omar Abdullah was sailing in two boats which signified that he wanted to rule the territory at the cost of human lives.
He said, on one hand, he sheds crocodile tears, while on the other, he orders men in uniform to suppress the sentiments of Kashmiri people. “Omar can’t be well-wisher of Kashmiri people because it is he who directs men in uniform to let loose a reign of terror,” the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader added.
Syed Ali Gilani said that if Omar Abdullah was really concerned about the people of Kashmir then he should resign. “We all know he will not resign because chair and power is everything for him. The reality is that he is anti-Kashmir,” he maintained.
The veteran leader praised the family of Tahir Ahmad Sofi, who was killed by Indian troops on Tuesday, for refusing compensation from the puppet administration.
Rejecting the probe into the incident, Gilani said, “The Indian government has given licence to its troops to kill innocent people. We have seen hundreds of such FIRs, commissions and probes. They are just an eye-wash and a tactic to buy time.”
