Be First!

Islamabad, March 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): In pursuance of the deliberations of Central Selection Board and subsequent approval of the Prime Minister, eighty (80) Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) Officers have been promoted to BS-21 and twenty three (23) officers to BS-20 posts, says a press release received from Establishment Division here today.

Upon promotion, these officers have been transferred to different organizations and provinces. It may be noted that officers of Pakistan Administrative Service are required to serve for two years in the Federal Government to become eligible for promotion to BS-22 in the Secretariat Group.

The officers, who have not served in the Federal Government, have been provided opportunity for serving Federal Government. Similarly, officers who have already served in the Federal Government and are presently serving in the provinces have been allowed to stay there. Some of the officers who are serving in the Federation are being proposed to actualize their promotion in the provinces where the vacancies were available.

With regard to posting of PAS/BS-20 officers, the shortage of officers in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan has been prioritized. Postings to the areas have been made keeping in view the Balochistan Specific Rotation Policy recently approved by the Prime Minister and circulated to all concerned. With these postings the acute shortage of officers in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan has been adequately addressed.

The above principles have been applied across the board without any exception. Officers having any reservations that they have been discriminated against or some other officer has been favoured, are at liberty to approach Establishment Division at their own expenses for addressing [such concerns.
