Pro-India NC continuing tradition of oppression: Forum
Srinagar, March 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani condemning the crackdown on Hurriyet leadership has said that the pro-India National Conference has unleashed its traditional policy of oppression in the territory.
The forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the NC was using police and CRPF against the people of the Valley.
“It has been a policy of NC that they are using armed forces who are destroying the property of the people. The authorities have given unbridled powers to the police and CRPF who have unleashed a reign of terror in the valley. This is nothing other than state terrorism,” the statement added.
The forum expressed concern over the use of deadly weapons on the people by the Indian forces.
The statement said that these arrests and harassments would not deter people of the Valley from demanding their right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, the Kashmiri leader, Sajjad Ghani Lone in a statement also condemned the arrest spree in Kashmir and termed ruling National Conference a party of glorified informers.
He said that the authorities had gone berserk and were conducting notorious raids throughout the Valley in the aftermath of the recent developments.
He said that children were being rounded up by policemen in civil clothes in nocturnal raids that had terrorized the parents of these children.
