Pakistan Ordinance Factory workers delegation calls on Prime Minister
Islamabad, March 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): A delegation of representatives of the workers of Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM’s House this afternoon.
The delegation members raised matters relating to workers of POF and discussed the demands of medical allowance, regularization of contract employees and approval of housing colony for the employees.
The Prime Minister gave a sympathetic hearing to their demands. While taking to the delegation the Prime Minister said that PPP is committed to improve the lot of working class and shall continue to work to highlight their issue and protect their interests.
The Prime Minister said that we are cognizant that a satisfied worker is more productive and contribute to the growth of the country in a befitting way.
The Prime Minister accepted some of the demands of the delegation while he promised to give favourable consideration to the rest of them
The Prime Minister while taking to the delegation on the occasion said that Pakistan People’s Party is pro-poor party and supports the working class. He said that the PPP led coalition government has taken practical steps for the welfare of the working class in the country.
The Prime Minister assured the delegation members that government would take all necessary steps to resolve their issues. He said that progress and prosperity of the labour and working class would go a long way in the overall development of the country.
The delegation members thanked the Prime Minister for sparing time in his busy schedule to hear their grievances.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah and Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira were also present on the occasion.
