MLA marshalled out from assembly over Afzal’s body issue
Jammu, March 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): Independent member of the so-called Legislative Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed was once again marshalled out from the House for demanding return of Muhammad Afzal Guru’s body. Despite repeated requests by the Speaker, the unrelenting Rasheed did not return to his seat and instead raised his demand vociferously, which led the Speaker to direct the marshals to take him out of the House.
The MLA wanted to know from the authorities about the Delhi’s response to the letters written by puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed on the issue of return of Afzal’s body.
Rasheed was the only member in the House to raise the issue after boycott by the principal opposition party PDP. He made a passionate appeal to the PDP to return to the House. “Don’t leave me alone. Let us fight together in the House,” he appealed, adding that “there are people to fight on the streets outside the House. Let us together fight it in the House.”
Meanwhile, Rasheed, who was repeatedly pointing towards the CM, was again interrupted by the Speaker. “What do you want? I will suspend you from the House; Don’t address CM, address to the Chair,” the Speaker warned.
