Good governance and rule of law will be objective of care taker Government-: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh

Karachi, March 22, 2013 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Justice (Retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi today presided a high level meeting of provincial secretaries and administration heads of government departments held at Chief Minister House.

The meeting was attended by all provincial secretaries, heads of departments. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh in his address said that all government officers and staff are public servants and they have to work for welfare and solution of problems faced to general public. He said that it will be the objective of caretaker government to ensure good governance in all aspects of the provincial government together with observing rule of law at all levels.

Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh stressed upon officers to bring productive and positive results, for which all officers and their subordinate staff should observe punctuality in attending offices. Caretakers Chief Minister directed that all officers and employees that they should reach their offices at 9:00 am positively. He made it clear that he wants work and early disposal of cases while those employees found involved in negligent attitude will be dealt accordingly.

He further directed the officers that they should try with sincerity and devotedly to resolve faced to commonmen. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh directed all the Secretaries and heads of departments to early dispose of pending files, summaries and cases lying in their offices within one week’s time.

Mr. Justice ( R ) Zahid Kurban Alavi added that all summaries and cases lying pending in Chief Minister House will positively be disposed off within few days. Dispelling the priorities of government, the Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh said that besides good governance, the other main problem confronting to province particularly the Karachi is load shedding and it will be objective of present government to get rid of loadshedding which is a curse. Mr. Justice ( R ) Zahid Kurban Alavi said that issues with KESC, HESCO and other WAPDA offices will be resolved soon and a meeting to this effect will he convened soon.

The Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh said that Karachi is economic hub of country and city of progress, prosperity while the pace of development lies on un-interrupted working of industries, trade and business activities etc and for that end of loadshedding is very essential. On the occasion, the participating Secretaries highlighted and problems and issues faced to their departments, The meeting was informed that there is over billing by HESCO/SESCO of Rs: 60 Billion against Sindh Government, while at higher level forum / meeting attended by two Federal Ministers and Chief Minister Sindh, it was decided that Sindh Government will pay Rs: 2.5 billion amount, while the WAPDA will waive off the claimed amount. Other issues were also discussed in the meeting.
