Liberation leader booked under PSA in IHK
Srinagar, March 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have booked the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front President for Pulwama district, Javed Ahmed, under the black law, Public Safety Act.
The authorities have shifted Javed Ahmed from Pulwama to Srinagar central jail after booking him under the draconian PSA. He was arrested in Pulwama on March 15 and lodged at a local police station.
Meanwhile, people took to the streets in Pulwama and staged demonstrations against the slapping of PSA on Javed Ahmed and his shifting to Srinagar central jail. They raised anti-India and pro-liberation slogans.
On the other hand, the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is under continued house arrest in Srinagar for the past over two weeks, in a statement said that the occupation authorities were subjecting Javed Ahmed to political vendetta for his participation in the programmes of Muttahida Majlis-e-Mushawrat. He said that the Indian police and troops had launched a crackdown on pro-liberation leaders to suppress the ongoing freedom movement in the territory.
Muhammad Yasin Malik appealed to the international community to take cognizance of house arrest and illegal detention of pro-liberation leaders and put pressure on India to release them.
