Delegation of Karachi Bar Association calls on Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh
Karachi, March 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 15- member delegation of Managing Committee of Karachi bar Association led by today called on Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Justice (Rtd) Zahid Kurban Alavi at Chief Minister House. The delegation apprised the Caretaker Chief Minster Sindh about problems faced to the Bar with regard to release of funds for dispensary of Karachi Bar Association. They also requested allotment of land for members of Bar.
Caretaker Chief Minster Sindh listened to their problems and said that it is endeavour of present caretaker government to hold fair and free elections and hoped that the elections will be held in peaceful manners.
He said that it is continuity of process of democracy that after completion of tenure, elections are held by ECP under caretaker government, and power is transferred to majority party under the provisions of constitution and law. Caretaker Chief Minster Sindh further added that some candidates are rejected by people while the others enter the assemblies under process.
With regard to allotment of land for members of CBA, the Caretaker Chief Minster Sindh assured that the matter will be processed accordingly. He added that the land of KBA, which is under encroachment will be got vacated through anti-encroachment cell force of Board of Revenue Sindh. Mr. Justice (Retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi hoped that lawyers will continue their struggle for supremacy of law and strengthening of democracy in the country.
