Undeclared curfew prevails in Palhallan
Srinagar, August 05 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, curfew-like situation prevailed at Palhallan in Pattan following the arrest of a local shopkeeper and Imam who was arrested by Indian police and Army in a joint operation on Saturday.
Strict undeclared curfew was imposed after a large contingent of Indian Central Reserve Police Force and police were deployed in the length and breadth of Palhallan area to keep the protests at bay, locals said.
The authorities directed people to stay indoors. People said that they were not even allowed to enter the mosque for prayers.
“So many policemen and CRPF personnel had cordoned the mosque and are not allowing anyone to enter it for prayers,” the residents told media.
