Malik arrested, Gilani, Shabbir, Nayeem, Zafar Butt under house arrest
Srinagar, August 12 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik and lodged him at Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar to prevent him from leading peace march in the city.
Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for a march from Maisuma to Lal Chowk, today, to send a message of peace in the wake of communal violence in Kishtwar and other areas of Jammu region.
On the other hand, all roads and streets leading to the residence of the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani at Hyderpora in Srinagar were blocked to bar media persons from attending his scheduled press conference, today.
Meanwhile, the authorities continued to place Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Zafar Akbar under house arrest for the 5th consecutive day, today.
