Talks only civilised way for Kashmir settlement: Naqash
Srinagar, August 31, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash has said that dialogue is the only civilized way for settlement of Kashmir dispute.
Mohammad Yousuf Naqash addressing a party meeting in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the uncertain and disturbed situation in Kashmir due to the oppressive tactics of India aimed at crushing the ongoing liberation movement.
He said that the people of Kashmir believed peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute through political dialogue but unfortunately their peaceful voices and struggle towards that direction was suppressed by use of brute force. Freedom of assembly and speech though a democratic and civilized right recognised by world is a crime here severely punished by India, he deplored.
He said that people in the territory were killed, arrested, tortured, detained and hanged for peaceful struggle for securing their right to self-determination but India could never succeed in killing or crushing the sentiment of freedom by using brute force.
Naqash said that time was witness to the fact that India used all brutal and oppressive tactics in occupied Kashmir since 1947 but never succeeded in its nefarious designs as the people of Kashmir didn’t want their territory the part of India.
He said that New Delhi must realise it that by using brute force for curbing the right to peaceful assembly, speech and protests, it was providing pretext to the violent mindset which was against humanity regardless of religion and region.
