Pak-India overtures fruitful only after Kashmir solution
Islamabad, November 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Vice Chairman, Altaf Ahmad Butt has said that peace overtures between Pakistan and India will remain inconclusive and the people Kashmir will continue to be caught in the tragic impasse unless the Kashmir Issue is addressed in its historical perspective.
Altaf Ahmad Butt while expressing concern over the Indian rigid attitude on Kashmir said that the people of Kashmir reject India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir and want settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per relevant UN resolutions.
He strongly denounced the crackdown by Indian forces on families of Hurriyet activists including the family of prominent freedom fighter, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar in Srinagar. He also demanded immediate release of all illegally Hurriyet leaders and activists including Zafar Akbar Bhat, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and Muhammad Yousuf Naqash.
He during a meeting with a Pakistan leader and Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bazenjo in Islamabad brief him the latest situation of Kashmir and Indian rigid policies on Kashmir.
