Islamabad: A delegation of Pakistan Computer Association Islamabad Chapter led by its Abdullah Malik, President, has visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discussed the various issues faced by computer venders.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahfooz Elahi, President ICCI said that there is a dire need for equipping the new generation with modern education and technology for economic stability of the country. He said that modern education required computers but poor students could not afford to buy a computer. He urged the banks to give soft loans to needy students to ensure good quality of education.

He said that computer education could provide new ways of learning and including computer science subjects in the school curriculum would develop a culture of thinking and lifelong learning. Thus, banks should provide computers to students on easy instalments instead of only making profit, he added.

Abdullah Malik, President, Pakistan Computer Association Islamabad Chapter said that import duty was imposed on used computers which should be removed for promoting modern education.
