President underscores Pakistan’s desire to build a broad based, substantive and long-term relationship with Norway in all fields including trade, economy and culture
Islamabad, September 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): President Mamnoon Hussain underscored Pakistan’s desire to build a broad based, substantive and long-term relationship with Norway in all fields including trade, economy and culture. The President said this while talking to Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Norway Ms. Riffat Masood, who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday.
The President hoped that the ambassador-designate would make all out efforts towards further strengthening the friendly ties between Pakistan and Norway. The President emphasized that the importance attached by the Pakistani Government to its economic agenda needs to be reflected in all diplomatic endeavours. The President underlined the need to highlight Pakistan’s investment policy to attract Norwegian investment in diverse areas particularly renewable energy, communication and infrastructure.
The President highlighted the need to enhance contacts between parliamentarians of the two countries to further strengthen bilateral relations. The President advised the ambassador-designate to promote the softer image of Pakistan through exchange of cultural troupes and increased people to people contacts. The President congratulated Ms. Riffat Masood on her appointment as Ambassador of Pakistan to Norway and wished her success in her new assignment.
