Sartaj Aziz meets Foreign Minister of Sudan
New York, September 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, today, met the Foreign Minister of Sudan, Prof. Ghandour Ibrahim Ahmed, on sidelines of 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York.
The two leaders appreciated brotherly and cordial relations that exist between Pakistan and Sudan. They agreed to inject a strong economic content into this relationship for mutual benefit of the two countries. In this regard, Prof. Gandour Ibrahim sought Pakistani investment and expertise for Sudan’s agriculture sector.
Welcoming the suggestion, Mr. Sartaj Aziz proposed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Economic Commission at an early date and convene Pakistan-Sudan Business Council for greater interaction between private sectors of the two countries. They also agreed to hold Bilateral Political Consultations at an early date. Pakistan and Sudan maintain active cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral forums. The two sides agreed to continue this cooperation in the future.
