Egypt’s army announces hosting 133 iftar banquets during Ramadan

Cairo (IINA) � The Egyptian army has started organizing mass iftar banquets during the holy month of Ramadan throughout the country’s governorates.

The armed forces announced the hosting of 133 Ramadan banquets in all the Egyptian governorates, in addition to the distribution of two million food packages to those in most need, in coordination with the government agencies.

The iftar banquets are prepared with a capacity of more than 810,000 cans of food to be distributed among the fasters during the holy month of Ramadan, the military said.

It pointed out to the decision that these banquets are to be distributed by the commanders of provinces and military forces, where the banquets are concentrated in the highly populated districts with the view to hosting the largest number of fasters.

This came in conjunction with the distribution of two million low-cost food packages by the armed forces in villages and areas densely populated with the needy and most vulnerable people with the aim of providing basic food commodities, the military added.
