Chinese company gifts sports shoes to flood victims of Pakistan 

Islamabad, February 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):A Chinese company has gifted sports shoes worth thirty-eight million rupees to help flood-affected people of Pakistan. According to China Leather Industry Association, the company launched an initiative named “Put on Chinese Shoes, Rebuild New Home” in January. The company, one of the leading sports brand companies in China, took action to express its care for the flood affected people in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moin-ul-Haque has expressed his sincere thanks to the company for their generous help to the flood-stricken groups in Pakistan. He said the donation made him felt once again the warmth of the Chinese people towards the Pakistani people.

Indian police, CRPF conduct joint area domination patrol in Rajouri

Jammu, February 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel conducted a joint area domination patrol in the border district of Rajouri. A police spokesperson has confirmed the joint ‘route march-cum-combing search and domination’ patrol in the district. He said the march started near the workshop bridge along the Jammu-Poonch highway and culminated at Dasal top after passing through various vulnerable areas of the district.

PTI’s ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ has proven to be flop show: Musadik 

Islamabad, February 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik has said PTI’s ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ has proven to be a flop show as not a single worker of the party courted arrest in Multan. Talking to a private news channel, Musadik Malik said instead of calling his workers to court arrest, Imran Khan should show some courage and court arrest himself first.

He further said that Imran Khan considered it his political right to use offensive language against the state institutions. Musadik Malik asserted that the polarization in Pakistani politics had aggravated to an extent that it was impossible to have a critical and rational discussion. He said the polarization needs to be de-escalated through political dialogue.

Kashmiris, Palestinians remain deprived of UN-pledged right to self-determination: Pakistan 

Islamabad, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan has called for addressing the situations where people are still forcibly denied their UN-pledged right to self-determination, as in Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine. Speaking at the Special Committee on ‘Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization’, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the world body Aamir Khan said there is a need to uphold principles of justice and rule of law.

He said the right to self-determination, which is a fundamental pillar of the world order based on the Rule of Law, is the central piece of multilateral framework for peace and security. The Pakistani envoy said there are some who have been denied this right and have been obliged to struggle for it. He said this is the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Morocco met with Governor Sindh 

Karachi, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has had a very busy day on Tuesday as well. On Tuesday, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf Saeed A. Al-Maliki met the Governor of Sindh in Islamabad. In the meeting, Pak-Saudi relations, promotion of mutual economic cooperation, investment opportunities in the province and other matters of mutual interest were discussed.

Governor Sindh said that Pakistan-Saudi relations span many decades, Pakistani people have special devotion to Saudi Arabia due to holy places, while Islamic brotherhood is the basis of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations. He further said that Saudi Arabia has helped Pakistan in every difficult time. He said that Saudi investors should benefit from the favourable investment environment in the province.

The Saudi ambassador said that he attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan. Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori was met by the Ambassador of Morocco in Islamabad, Mohammad Carmon.

Further promotion of mutual trade in the meeting, Exchange of delegations, increasing cooperation in the fields of education and health, investment opportunities in Sindh province and other issues were discussed. Governor Sindh said that Morocco is a country of significant importance in Islamic history, Morocco has unique importance in terms of its constructions.

He said that Pak-Morocco fraternal relations have spanned several decades, increasing mutual cooperation can benefit the economy of both countries. He said that there are favourable investment opportunities in various sectors in Karachi, the economic center of the country.

The Moroccan ambassador said that Moroccan investors are interested in investing in various sectors. He said that the people of Pakistan have always supported Morocco. It has unique importance in terms of its constructions. He said that Pak-Morocco fraternal relations have spanned several decades, increasing mutual cooperation can benefit the economy of both countries.

Cabinet’s members voluntarily surrender their salaries, perks: PM 

Islamabad, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):Addressing the meeting of federal cabinet in Islamabad on Wednesday, Prime Minister said firstly the government officials and cabinet members will adopt austerity measures and then the bureaucratic machinery will follow suit. He said the government is making honest efforts to put the country’s economy on right track.

Referring to the natural calamities of earthquake in 2005 and floods last year, Shehbaz Sharif said it was the poor class of the country that suffered the most. He said now it is the turn of affluent class to show that they will save every penny of the national exchequer and use it for people’s welfare.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given permission to approve the Lawyers Protection Act 

Islamabad, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):A delegation of newly elected top officials of Bar Councils across the country met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif today at the Prime Minister House. In the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the newly elected officials. The Prime Minister described the struggle of the lawyers’ community as key for the supremacy of the constitution and law in the country and praised their sacrifices.

The Prime Minister said that the lawyer’s community has always played the role of the vanguard for the protection of the constitution and supremacy of law in the country. The Prime Minister said that the lawyers raised their voice effectively against every unconstitutional move of the previous government, for which they deserve praise.

The delegation apprised the Prime Minister about the problems of Pakistan Bar Council, Islamabad High Court Bar Council and Provincial Bar Councils. The Prime Minister assured the delegation of immediate solution to all their legitimate problems. Federal Prime Ministers Nazir Tarar, Rana Sanaullah, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Special Assistants Malik Ahmed Khan and Attaullah Tarar also participated in the meeting.

Important review meeting regarding electricity transmission and load management in summer under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister 

Islamabad, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):An important review meeting regarding electricity transmission and load management in summer was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. While talking to the participants of the meeting, the Prime Minister said that appropriate steps should be taken to improve the electricity transmission system in the summer season and in this regard, appropriate measures should be taken for load management.

He emphasized that this proposed strategy should be finalized as soon as possible so that the relevant institutions have a solid and comprehensive plan before the arrival of heat. The Prime Minister further said that load shedding should be kept to a minimum during the summer months, especially during Ramadan.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the fact that the share of local fuels and alternative resources in the energy mix in terms of power generation is continuously increasing due to which the dependence on expensive imported fuels is decreasing and the import bill is also being reduced. Even though it is decreasing. The Prime Minister directed that steps should be taken immediately to make the Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant fully operational. He also directed the Power Division, Petroleum Division and other related institutions to improve coordination and communication regarding power generation and load management.

In the meeting, a detailed briefing was also given to the Prime Minister regarding power generation and load management, in which it was told that effective measures are being taken to minimize the burden of electricity load shedding on the people. Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Energy Engineer Khurram Dastagir, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Jahanzeb Khan and relevant senior government officials participated in the meeting.
