State of art smart tram to be started in Murree to improve facilities for tourists: CM Punjab

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz says a state of the art smart tram will be started in Murree to further improve tourist facilities in the area.

Presiding over a meeting flanked by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at Punjab House Murree today, she directed authorities concerned to present an action plan within fifteen days in this regard.

She asked relevant quarters to design a multi-storey parking plaza in Murree to accommodate over fifteen hundred vehicles. The tourists will reach Murree from plaza through tram.

The Chief Minister directed authorities concerned to install digital counting cameras at the entry points in order to beef up the security of city.

It was decided in a meeting to restore the ancient and historical buildings of Murree and matter is also under consideration to establish Murree Street in line with the latest global street model.

She also announced to establish best toilets for tourists at multiple points including Mall road for tourists.

The Chief Minister said that special toilet
s and wheel chair centers will be made for Persons with Disabilities and old people. She also directed to construct Kids rest areas.

Maryam Nawaz directed authorities concerned to complete up gradation of TB Samli Sanatorium Hospital on priority basis.

On this occasion, she was briefed about the water supply scheme from River Jehlum initiated for Murree and its adjoining areas. She was told about the operations against the encroachments in Murree.

The Chief Minister vowed to continue the campaign against encroachments and directed to formulate a stern policy against all the elements involved in the encroachment.

In his remarks, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif emphasized the need to bring amendments in the laws causing delay in the projects related to the public welfare.

He said that PML-N initiated multiple projects for public welfare and overcome load shedding in the country.
