CDA Approves Policies on rainwater harvesting renting out plots to private schools

Islamabad, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):The year’s sixth meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) board was held with Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal in the chair. The board decided that in each house there will be a rainwater harvesting tank and a small well for recharging the groundwater. No building map shall be approved without there being the water recharging well and tank.

After a detailed discussion, the board approved a policy on renting out plots to private schools on a 33 years’ lease. The meeting decided that its financial model will be finalised later. It was decided that plots will be rented out to private schools in accordance with a 100 marks formula – 20pc marks fixed for schools operating in houses and 25pc marks for schools charging Rs5,000 to Rs15,000 fee.

Similarly, they will be bound not to enhance fee by more than five per cent per year. Earlier, the board had decided that in all approved housing societies, community centres, dispensaries and school plots will be under the estate wing inventory. The board also approved giving authority to the Sanitation Directorate and the Environment Wing to impose fines and other punishments.

Discussing summaries related to cricket and football grounds, the board approved construction of a football ground in Kuri. It deferred a summary for a cricket ground and decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court seeking permission to construct a cricket ground in Shakarparian where a site was originally allocated but after the 1979 notification was added to the national park.

The board approved establishment of the Building and Housing Control Wing. The board was told that the establishment of the building control wing will help prevent illegal constructions and enforce building by-laws. Similarly, 50 teams of field staff will perform their duties in the building control wing. The building control team will consist of one assistant director and two surveyors.

Apart from this, the board also approved building by-laws for construction along IJP and Murree roads. In the board meeting, the ratio of mauve area to floor area was increased from 3,000 yards to 15,000 yards. Similarly, the floor area ratio for H-series sector institutional buildings was also increased.

The board also decided to resume work on the cultural complex which has been stalled since 2010. The renaming of the cultural complex Shakarparian to Al-Hamra Islamabad was also approved. Similarly, the decision to change the name of lady’s club in G-10 to Citizen Centre G-10 was also taken up in the board meeting.

It also approved the establishment of a green fund. Two per cent of the total cost of all major projects in Islamabad will be deposited in the fund. The board also approved the construction of a national bus terminal in I-11.

Chairman CDA Distributed cash salary to private cleaning staff

Islamabad, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has announced that all facilities in the city’s parks will be made available free of charge to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter. This announcement was made during a meeting with the Christian staff from the Sanitation Directorate, highlighting the CDA’s commitment to promoting diversity and equal access to public spaces. concerned estate commissioner and concerned officers should ensure that all facilities including swings are provided free of cost to the Christian community,” he added.

Chairman congratulated the Christian community across the country on the occasion of Easter and announced free access to swings in the parks for children of the community. Chairman CDA acknowledged the significant role of the Christian community in the development and prosperity of the federal capital. He also directed for immediate resolution of problems faced by the Christian employees working in the Sanitation Wing. In a separate event, the Chairman CDA distributed cash salary to private cleaning staff.

The first Floodlight Inter-Departmental Tape Ball Cricket Tournament

Islamabad, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):The first Floodlight Inter-Departmental Tape Ball Cricket Tournament was organized under the auspices of the Federal Development Authority (Capital Development Authority). This tournament continued for two days on Friday and Saturday night. The teams of CDA, ICT, Ministry of Interior and Islamabad Police participated in the tournament.

The first league matches were played in Floodlight Inter-Department Tape Ball Cricket Tournament in which Ministry of Home Affairs and CDA were eliminated from the tournament. The final of the tournament was played between ICT and Islamabad Police. In which ICT won the match by showing the best performance in the match. In the final of the tournament, Islamabad Police set a target of 86 runs which was easily won by the ICT administration.

On behalf of ICT, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Captain Noor-ul-Amin Mengal was the top scorer by scoring 37 runs not out. Even before this, Captain Noor-ul-amin Mengal had won ICT in the league match by playing a brilliant not out innings of 44 runs.

CDA conducts public hearing

Islamabad, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):For the first time in the country’s history, over 100 allottees of cancelled plots were given a personal hearing before the management of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday. CDA Chairman Capt. (Retd) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal along with officials of the legal wing were present at the public hearing held at Jinnah Convention Centre.

The CDA chairman called for the resolution of problems of affected people whose plots were cancelled in 1993 onwards. He maintained that he would not tolerate officers who have been creating hurdles in the right disposal of legitimate cases and announced that cases of previous allottees whose properties were cancelled every first week of the month.

Chairman CDA Noor-ul-Amin Mengal visits Park Enclave phase 2 and 3

Islamabad, April 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):During his visit to Park Enclave, he directed to hand over possession of residential plots in phase two and three of the scheme where development had been completed. The CDA Chairman also asked the engineering wing and contractor and expedite development activity in phase four and remaining parts of phase two and three. He also inspected model apartments constructed for overseas Pakistanis at Nilore Residencia.

It may be pointed out here at the Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had also directed the CDA management to focus on planning and developing residential schemes for the overseas Pakistanis who are one main source of sending foreign exchange to the country.

During inspection of CDA Nursery, the chairman desired participation of civil society to extend area of nursery plantation of saplings of different kinds. The focus of CDA chairman during the overall visit was to expedition and resumption of development work on stalled residential sectors in Islamabad.

CDA seals One Constitution Avenue’s marketing and sales department

Islamabad, March 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Building Control Department of the Capital Development Authority has sealed the Marketing and Sales Department of One Constitution Avenue. CDA took over the management of One Constitution Avenue after taking over all the records. Director Estate Management II has been appointed as Administrator.

 

According to the details, the lease was cancelled on the basis of non-payment in the light of Supreme Court orders. Earlier in 2015, the lease was also cancelled and the Supreme Court gave the developer one more chance to pay the dues and the developer failed to pay as per the schedule given by the Supreme Court. Failing which authority after confiscating record took over control of the office of one constitution.

 

Furthermore, Capital Development Authority has been appointed Director Estate Management-II as Administrator One Constitution. The One Constitution Avenue Resident Committee will run the day-to-day management matters along with the CDA Committee. The committee constituted by CDA will include officers of Estate Department, Finance Wing, Enforcement and Building Control.
