Prime Minister to Inaugurate Hospital of Thousand Beds in Islamabad
Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani told the Argentinean Ambassador, H.E. Rodolfo Martin Saravil, when he called on him at the PM House today that he will inaugurate the ground breaking ceremony of the extension project of the Poly Clinic consisting of one thousand beds. The hospital will be built at one third portion of the Argentina Park adjacent to the Poly Clinic.
The Ambassador appreciated the project and offered that his government would be very happy to train the paramedics’ staff that plays an important role in the post treatment recovery. The opening of a Medical College in the Complex to produce doctors and nurses will be a quantum leap in delivery of health services. The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador and the Government of Argentina for the offer, adding that such training programme will help in overcoming the shortage of nurses in the country.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister will visit Argentina in November this year and this high level contact will strengthen the bi-lateral relations between the two countries. The Prime Minister underscored the need of frequent top-level exchanges between the two countries.
The Prime Minister thanked the Argentinean Government for the collaboration between the pharmaceutical companies to produce vaccine of Hepatitis at affordable price for the Pakistani patients.
Mr. Tommy Heinrich, the writer of “Pakistan Golden Thrones”, who is himself a mountaineer and a photographer, presented the book to the Prime Minister on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Argentina. The Prime Minister was greatly impressed by the contents and the excellent photographs in the book portraying breath-taking natural and scenic beauty of the Northern areas.
The Prime Minister also advised the writer to visit Multan, which is a living city during the last five thousand years where he would find historical places and also beautiful deserts, giving the perfect idea of the diversity of the land and the people.
The writer was excited to know that the book will be launched in Argentina in the presence of the Pakistani Foreign Minister and her Argentinean counterpart during her visit to the country.
