Air Chief elected fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society

Karachi, November 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, has been elected Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society in a ceremony held at PAF Air War College Faisal today. Air Marshal (retd) Salim Arshad, President Royal Aeronautical Society in Pakistan, handed over the Certificate of Fellowship to Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.

While addressing the ceremony, Air Marshal Salim Arshad hoped that the Air Chief’s personal involvement in the work of the Society would enhance the standards in all aerospace disciplines in the country. The award of Fellowship to the Air Chief by the prestigious Royal Aeronautical Society is the recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Aerospace Industry. The coveted award has brought laurels to the country in general and Pakistan Air Force in particular.

While addressing at the occasion, the Air Chief said, “In recent past, the sphere of aviation has seen tremendous developments, and the society since its inception in 1866 has come a long way in promotion of the highest professional standards in the field of aviation.

In view of the outstanding contributions made by the Society towards enhancing standards in all disciplines of aerospace, I am sure our interaction with the Society will be fruitful for the Pakistan Air Force as well as the Aviation Industry of Pakistan.” He further said, “Being a modern Air Force, PAF is fully focused on developing its human resource and assets. No doubt, today it has attained a significant measure of self-reliance to meet our operational requirements.

PAF’s lead role in operation Zarb-e-Azb, in synergy with the Sister Services has got tremendous success in our fight against the terrorists and the whole nation is proud of its Air Force. It has also got a wide acclaim throughout the world.” The ceremony was attended by Senior Officers of the Armed Forces, Civil Aviation Authority, Senior Executives of Airlines and members of the Royal Aeronautical Society in Pakistan.
