Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority participates in the Blue organized by Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan
Lahore, March 11, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) participation returned back to head office the other day after successful participation in the Blue organized by Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with TDAP in Multan. SMEDA women exhibition organizing team in a report submitted to the CEO SMEDA informed here today that SMEDA had sponsored 14 women enterprises (Wes) in the fair, out of which four were from Sindh, five from the province of KP and 5 from Multan.
The major products displayed in SME Pavilion related to Textile, Leather, Interior Designing, Jewellery, hand-made embroidery, Cosmetics and Handicrafts. Whereas, one of the stalls of SMEDA Pavilion had been developed as facilitation centre for the exhibitors to provide information on SMEDA’s current initiatives including Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan, SME Club, Women Business Development Centres and the business development services available at SMEDA.
The women entrepreneurs, who displayed their products in the fair, have recorded their acknowledgment for SMEDA assistance in providing the logistic support and on-the-spot patronage, without which they could not step out to display their products in such an important event.
Mrs. Abida Hussain, Mr. Atta Tanveer Sheikh Senior Vice President MCCI and Mr. Khurram Javed Secretary General MCCI, while visiting SMEDA pavilion, appreciated the quality and display style of the products related to Textile, Leather, Interior Designing, Jewellery, hand-made embroidery and Handicrafts in the SME Pavilion. SMEDA’s SME Pavilion was also highly appreciated by visitors. SMEDA staff present at the helpdesk facilitated and registered at least over a 100 walk-ins.
CEO SMEDA Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, in a statement, has assured the fullest support to promote entrepreneurship among women and invited WCCI-MD to have partnership in making such programs a real success. He said that SMEDA has a full cognizance of the challenges to be faced by women entrepreneurs in the under-privileged provinces of the country. That is why SMEDA has been making special endeavours to bring women enterprises from the less developed areas to the national exhibitions like Blue Fair of Multan, he added.
