Monitoring team formed to keep an eye on development schemes: Minister
Karachi, March 14, 2016 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that there is a dire need to keep an eye on going Development Schemes in health Department and for this purpose a four Member Committee under Secretary Health has been formed to ensure timely completion of Schemes, transparent purchase of medicines and medical equipments so that public money may not go in waste. This he said while presiding over a meeting of Public Sector Development Progress Wing in his office on Monday.
He directed the officers concerned to speed up Development work and physically rectify the schemes on regular basis and Health advisory meetings must be held. Health Minister asked them to produce purchase records while renovation of the public Hospitals to gradually finish work to save money and time both.
In meeting the Provincial Health Minister was informed that 97 development schemes were going on in Health department while 22 new development schemes had been proposed for new financial year 2016-17. Health Minister approved proposed scheme for establishing medical college and hospital at Hala.
He said that government was spending a huge amount in Health sector and he would not tolerate corruption in the department and accountability process was going on in health department as well. Secretary Health Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, Additional Director Shaista Mubarak, Mohsin Ali Shah and Dr. Jabbar Memon also attended the meeting.
