Kashmiris hold anti-India demos in Brussels against Modi`s visit
Brussels, March 30, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Kashmir Council European Union held protest demonstrations, today, on Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s arrival in Brussels, the Belgium’s capital and EU headquarters. The protest was led by the Chairman Kashmir Council European Union, Ali Raza Syed, which started at 12:30 p.m. at Place Schumann (near Metro Stop Schumann) in front of the EU Council and Commission Offices where Modi’s meetings took place. The protesters raised anti-India and anti Modi slogans.
The protest was against Indian atrocities on the people of occupied Kashmir and harassment of Kashmiri students studying in different Indian universities. It was also meant to condemn the fascist and extremist policies of Modi’s government against various minorities and other oppressed segments in Indian society.
Beside Kashmiris, representatives of all suppressed people of India participated in the protest, KCEU statement said. The Council Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, while addressing the protesters said, the Kashmiris have been worst victim of Indian state terrorism.
Regarding the free trade access of India to the European market and the upcoming bilateral summit, Ali Raza Syed demanded that the EU should link its trade with the betterment of human rights situation in different parts of India and occupied Kashmir. He maintained that being an influential international body, the EU could play important role for ending the human rights abuses in the occupied territory.
