National Assembly Speaker Leaves for Albania on a 5-Day Official Visit
Islamabad: Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly will embark on a 5-day visit to Tirana, Albania on 14th October, 2011 from Karachi. She will be accompanied by a five member parliamentary delegation comprising of MNAs Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Mrs. Rubina Saadat Qaim Khani, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hasan, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Bughio and Dewan Ashiq Hussain Bokhari.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza is undertaking this visit on the invitation of Mrs. Jozefina Çoba Topalli, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament (National Assembly). This visit carries a special significance since both the Assemblies have Women Speakers and that too elected for the first time to this exalted pedestal.
The Speaker National Assembly during her stay in Albania, besides meeting her counterpart, will also meet President, Prime Minister and other leaders of the Albanian Political hierarchy.
In the course of discussion with her Albanian political hierarchy, the Speaker will focus of exploring possible venues of bilateral parliamentary and economic cooperation between both the countries, invigorating the friendship groups and interaction between women parliamentarians in both the legislatures. The Speaker along with her delegation will also witness plenary session of the Albanian Parliament.
