3rd Day of TEXPO Pakistan
Karachi, April 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Textile industry enjoys a 55% share in Pakistan’s total exports. Pakistan is also one of the very few countries of the world which houses the entire value chain for textile products having top notch brands like Gul Ahmed, Chen One etc. TEXPO 2016 is conceptualized by the TDAP’s with an aim to increase the present exposure of international buyers to this key sector of our economy.
For this purpose specialized B2B meetings were organized between international buyers and exhibitors in the sub categories of Textile which included Cotton Yarn, Fabrics, Knitwear, Readymade Garments, Towels, Hosiery, Leather Garments and Accessories, Footwear, Handicrafts, Bed Linen etc.
The 3rd day of TEXPO 2016 was more about follow up meetings and field / factory visits. Delegations of countries like France, Spain, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and UAE have even proceeded to other hubs of business in Pakistan like Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad for exploring the textile industry more vigorously. The product officers of TDAP ensured that the buyers are able to build upon and consolidate their initial phase of business negotiations with potential exporters and exhibitors.
The reported outcome of business deals which have been materialized so far amounts to approximately USD 225 million, based on which it is expected that the actual business generated may exceed from USD 500 million. The last two days of the exhibition are open for public and the footfall for today has proven the fact that textiles is truly the heart of Pakistan’s economy.
