Brutal attack by forces on Tral aged citizen condemned
Srinagar, August 21, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the brutal attack by Indian forces on 80 years old citizen of Tral, Abdul Qayoom and injuring him along with his wife.
The APHC Spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that personnel of police and paramilitary forces raided the house to arrest Shabbir Ahmad Falahi but as he was not present there, they tried to arrest his brother, Noor Mohammad, but met some resistance from the family. To prove their might and aggression they fired upon them injuring his father Abdul Qayoom, 85, and his mother, 80, both were rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for further treatment. He questioned them why you harass the brother or other family members instead of persons you want to arrest. He cautioned these black-sheeps in police to desist from such activities, otherwise, will have to face the public.
The Hurriyet forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed shock over forces’ firing on an 85-year-old man, Abdul Qayoom and his aged wife in Tral.
Expressing concern and anguish over blocking of inter-district movement of vehicles carrying essentials such as medicines, vegetables, milk etc to Srinagar city especially to old city and imposition of round the clock curfew as a revenge against people by the anti-human regime, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq condemned it and said, “If the regime thinks it will weaken the people’s resolve and we will be brought down on our knees and will give up, they are living in a fool’s paradise.” “In fact the more they repress us the more we will resist,’ Mirwaiz added.
