3 kindergartens to take care of children during Hajj: IINA Report
Makkah, (IINA) – On the 7th of Dhu al-Hijjah, seasonal kindergartens and nurseries will begin to receive the children of pilgrims in Makkah, in an initiative launched by the Saudi authorities to take care of the children while their parents perform the rituals.
The Ministry of Education allocated three centers in areas close to the holy sites of Makkah to receive the children of pilgrims between the ages of one month to ten years.
The initiative, which is being implemented for the first time, aims to protect children from health risks, overcrowding, and going missing during Hajj by sheltering them in nursery centers that include advanced health, education, and recreational programs.
Director of the information Department at the Ministry of Education in Makkah Talal al-Raddadi told the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) that the kindergartens will start working from 7 Dhu al-Hijjah and until 13 of Dhu al-Hijjah.
He added that a qualified staff would work in these nurseries, with different incubators for infants, toddlers, and young children. Nurseries are also provided with specialized medical clinics to provide medical care for children, as well as a nutrition program suited to the needs of their ages.
The Saudi authorities have adopted a strict security system to ensure the safety of children in nurseries and kindergartens, where the identity of the child and his parents are verified in cooperation with the competent security authorities.
The entries and exits of the child from the building are documented with the fingerprints of his guardian, as well as cameras to monitor the entrances and exits of the kindergartens.
Al-Raddadi noted that the ministry registered children through Hajj institutions and campaigns, pointing out that this is the first year of the program and that it is still experimental.
He expected that the program will be further developed in the upcoming Hajj seasons and that it will cover a larger number of children.
