Punjab Chief Minister holds meeting to review governmental steps for the solution of problems of sugarcane farmers
Lahore, January 02, 2018 (PPI-OT):A high-level meeting was held with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, here today to review progress on governmental steps aimed at solving the problems of sugarcane farmers. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government has ensured protection of rights of the sugarcane farmers. He made it clear that no one will be allowed to usurp the rights of the farmers and added that farmers are his brethren, reward of their hard work will be provided and every step is being taken to protect the interests of the sugarcane farmers.
He directed to continue indiscriminate action against the mills detecting the weight and added that any complaint in deduction in weight will not be tolerated at any cost. Indiscriminate action should also be continued against the illegal weighbridges and the relevant provincial ministers and secretaries should remain in the field all the time to protect the stakes of the farmers as the situation has been improved because of field visits.
Provincial Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, spokesman Punjab government Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary, ACS (Home), Chairman P and D and others attended the meeting while Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin, Sheikh Allauddin, Naeem Akhtar Bhabha, Iqbal Channar, Farrukh Javed and other officials attended the meeting through video link from their respective districts.
