Mayor Karachi visit Anjuman Taraqqi-e-Urdu Building
Karachi, January 17, 2018 (PPI-OT):Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said we are thankful to the President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain for providing of Rs4 crores for construction of new building for the office of the Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Urdu in Karachi. On a visit of the under construction building named “Urdu Bagh” he said Urdu is our national language and it gives us our identity therefore we need to promote it on every level.
He was accompanied by the chairman of DMC central Rehan Hashmi, vice chairman of DMC East Abdul Rauf, chairman of works committee Hassan Naqvi, director Media Management Ali Hassan Sajid and other elected representatives and officers. Mayor Karachi was welcomed by the honorary president Zulqarnain Jamil and honorary secretary Dr. Fatima Hassan of the Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Urdu Pakistan.
Later Mayor Karachi reviewed the under construction road in front of the Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Urdu Pakistan’s building and different portions of the building. He said that encroachments around this building will be removed and measures will be taken for cleanliness around it. He said the Anjuman have great services for the support and promotion of Urdu and now construction of this new office building of Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Urdu Pakistan would further help in its endeavours.
He said Urdu is the language which bring all of us together and create harmony and unity among the people living in all parts of our country. The Honorary secretary Dr. Fatima Hassan said that the President of Pakistan would inaugurate the Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Urdu Pakistan’s new building in the current month for which he requested Mayor Karachi for provide his patronage as father of the city.
