Mayor Karachi inaugurates road in Muslimabad Orangi Town
Karachi, January 18, 2018 (PPI-OT):Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said Karachi facing step motherly treatment from Islamabad and the city which provides billions of rupees in revenue is not getting even millions for its requirements. It was duty of the governments to solve the problems of the citizens. All efforts would be taken to solve the scarcity of water in Orangi areas. Citizens have trusted and elected us so that they could get rid of the everyday problems. Provision of potable water, better sewerage and sanitation and road infrastructure was basic right of the people and it was our duty to solve these problems.
He said this while talking to media representatives after inaugurating the newly constructed road in union council 22 of Faqir Colony, Muslimabad and while visiting different areas of Orangi on Thursday evening. Well known religious leader Qari Usman, Maulana Umer Sadiq and U.C Chairman Akbar Shah Hashmi and Syed Haider Shah and other elected representatives besides director general works Shahab Anwer and senior director coordination Masood Alam also accompanied him on this occasion.
Mayor Karachi said Karachi is the backbone of national economy this city runs whole country but this city is now deprived of basic facilities and the government must think on it before the patience of the citizens reach a boiling point. He expressed hope that with the construction of this road in union council 22 people of this area would be facilitated in their daily life.
He said that solving citizen’s problems was topmost priority of the elected representatives and they also knew their responsibilities therefore all efforts must be under taken to do the development works wherever it is possible. He said that the garbage lifting and removal was also a major issue and time has come that we start thinking about this because poor sanitation and leakage from sewerage lines was causing spread of various diseases in the city.
