Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s 39th death anniversary observed
The 39th death anniversary of Founder Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed today (Wednesday).
Quran Khawani held at various places for the departed soul of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Central ceremony was held at Garhi Khuda Bux.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was born on 5th January 1928 in Larkana. He acquired law education from Oxford and was Foreign Minister in Ayub Khan’s government.
Later on, he resigned as Foreign Minister due to political differences and founded his own political party, Pakistan Peoples Party that gave the people its slogan of ‘Roti, Kapra aur Makaan’ in the 1970s elections.
He became the elected Prime Minister of the country from 1973 to 1977. His government was toppled in a military coup by then Chief of Army Staff General Zia-ul-Haq. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was accused in an alleged murder case for which he was hanged on 4th April in 1979.
