ISESCO to be part of visit to Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh


Rabat (UNA-OIC) � The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will be part of a visit, to be organized by the government of Bangladesh on May 4, to the temporary camps for Rohingya Muslim refugees in Cox’s Bazar district on the Bangladeshi side of the border with Myanmar.

Taking part in the trip are a number of ministers from the Muslim world, delegates of United Nations agencies as wells representatives of organizations and specialized international bodies participating in the 45th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to be held in Dhaka on May 5-6.

During this visit, the participants will see firsthand the living conditions of about 1 million Muslim refugees, mostly children and women, who had fled their homes and sought safety in Bangladesh following the military crackdown launched by Myanmar’s military against them in August 2017.
