1st day of the TEXPO 2016
Karachi, April 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, organized the 1st ever product specific exhibition in Pakistan by the name of TEXPO 2016. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Federal Minister for Commerce, Engr. Khurram Dastagir Khan, and the Guest of Honour, Commerce Minister for Sri Lanka, Mr Rishad Bathiudeen.
TEXPO 2016 is a specialized initiative on part of TDAP for the promotion of business opportunities for the most significant and potent sector of Pakistan – the textile industry. Overall 230 major companies, who are the leading exporters of Pakistan, have setup 320 stalls in 4 exhibition Halls and over 450 foreign buyers/ importers from around 60 countries are visiting TEXPO 2016.
Pakistan’s leading Textile brands like Gul Ahmed, Chen One, Sapphire, Shariq Textile, Shabbir Textile, Kohinoor, Global Apparel, Digital Dura Print, Surti International, Sitara Textile etc have set up customized stalls in Hall 2. Fashion Council Pakistan along with the top designers like Farida Qureshi, Sanam Chaudhry, Zainab Chhotani, Amir Adnan, Shamail Ansari, Wardha Saleem, Shehla Chatoor and Zaheer Abbas are showcasing their latest collection. TEXPO is yet another brand developed by TDAP. This successfully follows other TDAP brands such as EXPO, AALISHAN Pakistan and Single Country Exhibition, Ghent and Sri Lanka.
Ambassadors of Pakistan, from Netherlands, Vietnam and Brazil have lead there business delegation for TEXPO 2016. After the inauguration, the Minister for Commerce, Engr. Khurram Dastagir Khan, along with Secretary Commerce, Azmat Ali Ranjha, C.E. TDAP, Mr S. M. Muneer, and Secretary TDAP, Ms Rabiya Javeri Agha held high profile meetings with the delegations from France, China, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Netherlands, Vietnam, Spain and Germany.
TDAP had facilitated the foreign buyers with services of interpreters in Chinese, Japanese, French, Arabic, German and Russian languages. Also, meetings were arranged for different delegations with FPCCI and KCCI. The delegation from Hong Kong signed MoUs with both the chambers and productive meetings were held between the representatives of the Chambers and the Delegates from Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam and France. Almost all the major Trade Associations of Pakistan related with the textile and leather sector have marked their presence in TEXPO Pakistan, 2016 by setting up their own customized stalls.
The Exhibitors have given very positive feedback regarding the quality of buyers which are being hosted by the TDAP for TEXPO 2016. The exhibitors were particularly impressed by the seriousness of the buyers from France, South Korea and Sri Lanka. The Indonesian delegation held fruitful meetings with the exhibitors of footwear, tents and canvas and other textile products.
While the buyers from Belgium showed keen interest in the Home textile sector. All in all, even before the end of the first day of TEXPO 2016 the tempo of the exhibition seems highly upbeat and the TDAP looks forward to having yet another feather added to its cap in the form of a successful TEXPO 2016.
