Ashrafi urges media to not create suspicions about madrasa curriculum

Special Representative of Prime Minister on Religious harmony Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has urged media not to create suspicions about madrasa curriculum.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore today (Sunday), he said no restrictions would be imposed on teaching science subjects in madrasas.

Commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement regarding women hijab and attire, he said the Ulema fully support it.

He said Islam is protector of women rights and the Prime Minister’s statement about hijab was legal and in accordance with Holy Quran and Sunnah.

Tahir Ashrafi said the Prime Minister’s statement was targeted by some elements for political reasons.

Sheikh Abdullah, Mufti Saeed’ families serving Indian interests in IIOJ&K: Masood

AJK President Sardar Masood Khan said that Sheikh Abdullah and Mufti Saeed families have been serving the Indian interests and playing the role of facilitators to help India consolidate its illegal occupation of Kashmir since 1947.

Addressing a ceremony Islamabad, he said that Kashmiri people would no longer fall into their traps because they are now more conscious about their treacheries.

He said that the participation of the genuine Kashmiri leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Asiya Andrabi, and Shabbir Ahmed Shah would have established the credibility of these talks and the sincerity of rulers in Delhi but their absence shows that Kashmiris have nothing to do with this pointless exercise.

No one will be allowed to take law in his hand: Sindh CM

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah said no one would be allowed to take law in his hand.

Talking to media at Hala, he said it was absolutely not correct to set ablaze the houses of the people and the property of government at Bahria town Karachi.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said that high-handedness would not be tolerated to any people of the province.

Punjab Govt allocates Rs55b for ‘Nullah Lai’ project: Rashid

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said the Punjab government has allocated 55 billion rupees for ‘Nullah Lai’ project in the budget for the next fiscal year.

He said the work on the project to be completed under public-private partnership will start this year.

Terming the project as game changer, Sheikh Rashid said it will help ease traffic congestion in the city and control flash flooding caused by heavy rains.

Monitoring system being developed to ensure timely utilization of funds of ADP: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the government will continue its journey of public service with sincere hard work as people want progress and prosperity.

In a statement, he regretted that the opposition parties are least concerned with the progress and development hence they have put the national interest aside.

The Chief Minister, however, said the designs of the conspirators will be foiled yet again and they will not be allowed to hinder the journey of development.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said strict monitoring of development projects will be done to ensure transparency and timely utilization of funds.

In a statement issued in Lahore on Sunday, he said a monitoring unit will be set up to monitor the implementation on Annual Development Program (ADP) of 560 billion rupees in Punjab.

The Chief Minister said the concerned departments have been given a deadline of July 31 to get the approval of unapproved schemes and to take prompt measures in this regard.

He said timely and transparent utilization of the funds of the Annual Development Program will be ensured at all costs.

The Chief Minister said an effective mechanism will be set up for third party audit of development schemes.

Govt to honour its pledge of creating South Punjab province: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will honour its pledge of creating South Punjab province.

Presiding over a meeting at South Punjab Secretariat in Multan on Sunday, he said the PTI government strongly believes in ensuring equal development in all areas of the region.

On this occasion, different secretaries of south Punjab secretariat gave a briefing on uplift projects, being carried out in the region.

The Foreign Minister said allocation of 35 percent budget for south Punjab is a beginning of a new era of development in south Punjab.

He said the government will ensure complete spending of the earmarked money at the uplift projects announced in the budget.
