The Globe and Mail’s Sophi.io Wins WAN-IFRA’s North American Digital Media Award

New uplift schemes to be launched for Badin: Imran Ismail

Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail has said that new development schemes would be launched soon to improve the living standards of the people in Badin and other districts of province.

He said this while talking to Leader of Grand Democratic Alliance, Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza, who called on him at the Governor’s House in Karachi.

Talking to the Sindh Governor, Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza briefed him in detail about the development works in Badin district.

The Governor Sindh assured, he would soon present his suggestions regarding the development works of Badin during his meeting with the Prime Minister.

KP govt taking effective measures to attract maximum tourists during peak season: Atif

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government is taking effective measures to attract maximum tourists during the peak season.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food, Atif Khan in a statement said Food Safety and Hilal Food Authority has deployed special teams at all tourists’ resorts in the province to ensure provision of quality food to the tourists.

The teams will visit the tourists’ resorts and ensure availability of hygienic food to the tourists.

The Minister said tourists can lodge their complaint on toll free number 0800-37432 in case of any complaint against food outlets and assured that food safety teams would take immediate action.

Punjab administration on alert to cope with threat of urban flooding during monsoon

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the concerned departments to remain fully alert and well-prepared so as to tackle the possible threat of floods during the monsoon season.

While issuing directions from Lahore today, he directed the departments concerned to monitor water flow in the rivers round-the-clock.

He ordered to chalk out an emergency plan on district level so as to cope with any disaster.

Usman Buzdar said that de-watering sets must be kept functional to take out the rain water from the inundated areas.

Problems of Sindh province to be resolved with cooperation of federal govt: Ismail

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that problems of health, education and potable drinking water is faced by the people of Sindh which could be resolved in cooperation with Sindh and federal governments.

Talking to media men in Karachi today (Tuesday) he said he will talk to both the Sindh chief minister and federal government to resolve these problems faced by the people of the province.

He said this would be first mass transit project of its Kind to be inaugurated by the prime minister to facilitate and said that high quality buses will made available for the project to facilitate the people.

Buzdar directs for enforcement of coronavirus related SOPs in cattle markets

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed for enforcement of coronavirus related SOPs in cattle markets and said that best cleanliness arrangements should also be ensured.

In a directive issued from Lahore, the Chief Minister said that legal action will be initiated in case of any violation.

He said that special arrangements should be made for smooth flow of traffic around cattle markets and animals should be sprayed for safety from Congo Virus.

He directed the line departments to take steps in this regard.

Five terrorists killed Quetta

Five terrorists have been killed in an exchange of fire with Counter Terrorism Department and security agencies in Hazar Ganji area of Quetta.

According to Counter Terrorism Department spokesmen, the terrorists were planing to target sensitive installations in Balochistan.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
