Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Expands to Pakistan

This is the Sixth International Location for the World’s Largest Barbecue Chain

Dallas, Texas, July 29, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Lahore, Pakistan is open. The Texas Style barbecue restaurant features Short Ribs, Lamb Shank and Beef Sausages.

Representatives Azam Bhatti and Mazhar Zaidi from the A.J. Corporation inked their master franchise agreement with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit to develop Pakistan’s first American-based barbecue franchise and bring true, Texas-style barbecue to Pakistan. “We are so proud to be expanding Internationally and offer slow-smoked meats and sausages in Pakistan” says Roland Dickey Jr. Chief Executive Officer of Dickey’s Capital Group.

The A.J. Corporation acquired full franchising rights for Pakistan that includes a total development of 20 stores spread out over the next 10 years and plans to offer a variety of menu items, delivery, and catering options at their first location.

Margaret Crotty to lead JSI and World Education family of global agencies

BOSTON, July 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The JSI Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Margaret Crotty as its next president and CEO. She will succeed Joel Lamstein, who has served as president and CEO since he founded John Snow, Inc., with Bert Hirschhorn in 1978.

Margaret, who has a record of leadership and innovation in both the nonprofit and private sectors in the areas of education and public health, will lead for-profit John Snow, Inc., the nonprofit JSI Research & Training Institute, and affiliate nonprofit World Education, Inc.

Margaret will join JSI and World Education in January 2022 from her position as CEO of the Partnership with Children, a New York City-based provider of community health services and community school management.

AJK President calls upon UNSC to help stop killing of civilians in IIOJK

AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has called upon the United Nations Security Council, its Human Rights Council, and International Committee of the Red Cross to help stop the killing of defenceless civilians in the name of terrorism in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Condemning the recent incidents of extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri youths in Kulgam, Pulwama, Bandipora, and other areas of IIOJK by the Indian occupation forces, the President said the killing of youths by the Indian Army in fake encounters across the occupied territory is a matter of great concern to us.

He said thousands of people in IIOJK have been killed by Indian forces in custody, extrajudicial executions, and enforced disappearances and these human rights violations are committed with absolute impunity.

Sardar Masood Khan said there have been instances where Indian soldiers have used their own agents to stage an attack on a military installation or army patrolling party to justify a false flag operation to target the Kashmiri youth.

The President said, 900,000 Indian troops had besieged the defenceless Kashmiris for the last two years in general and the last thirty years in particular and they had let loose the worst oppression against them.

KP CM for timely completion of developmental projects in tribal districts

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan says solution of problems faced by the tribals and removing their sense of deprivation is among the top priorities of the present government.

Presiding over a meeting of the Task Force of merged districts in Peshawar on Thursday, he said special focus should be given over the provision of quality healthcare, education and clean drinking water in these areas.

Mahmood Khan directed for timely completion of all ongoing developmental projects in tribal districts.

The meeting also reviewed the law and order situation, administrative matters and merger affairs of tribal districts.

PM performed balloting of LDA City Apartments in Islamabad

Prime Minister Imran Khan performed the balloting of LDA City Apartments in Islamabad on Thursday.

The LDA City Apartments is a joint venture of Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) and Lahore Development Authority (LDA), under which four thousand flats are being constructed.

Two thousand flats will be given to those registered with Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority while the remaining two thousand flats to the ones registered with the LDA.

For each apartment, the government will provide a subsidy of three hundred thousand rupees.

The total price of each apartment is 4.7 million rupees. The applicant will merely pay ten percent as a down payment whilst the remaining amount will be paid through easy instalments to the banks in a period between five to twenty years.

The process of paying instalments will begin after the apartment is handed over to the applicant.

CM Balochistan seeks PM help for rederssal of electricity crises in Makran Division

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan for resolving the current electricity crisis of Makran division.

In the letter, he requested the Prime Minister to direct Power Division to take up the case with Iranian authorities.

He said the division was energized by Quetta Electric Supply Company through an rrangement with Iran.

He added as per agreement, Iran was supplying 100 megawatts of electricity through 132 KV transmission line, which was sufficient for the population of the area, currently connected with the distribution system.

He said the estimated total demand of electric power of the division was around 150 megawatts.
