MONTREAL, Aug. 19, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bombardier today announced the launch of its new myMaintenance App, an exclusive tool to support customers subscribed to the Smart Link Plus connected aircraft program. Smart Link Plus subscribers now have the unique ability to make real-time in-flight data-driven decisions to effectively track, troubleshoot, and manage their aircraft service needs.

Thanks to the new, user-friendly myMaintenance App, aircraft data is easily accessible, enabling flight and maintenance crews to quickly and efficiently prioritize and proactively troubleshoot aircraft in-flight fault notifications, increasing an aircraft’s operational efficiency. Aircraft data displayed in the intuitive myMaintenance App is available anytime, anywhere on any personal electronic device.

Bookings and installations for Challenger 300 and Challenger 350 aircraft are available now with other aircraft models in development. Operators of Challenger 300 and Challenger 350 aircraft who receive their free-of-charge* Smart Link Plus box installed at a Bombardier Service Centre can also connect to their aircraft at their fingertips through the myMaintenance App.

The Smart Link Plus box was recently certified by the FAA for both Challenger 300 and Challenger 350 aircraft. The box, free-of-charge* to customers, is an aircraft Health Monitoring Unit that records crucial aircraft data. This was developed in collaboration with GE Aviation exclusively for Bombardier aircraft as part of GE’s connected aircraft solutions. As a result of the certification, Challenger 300 and Challenger 350 customers will begin their installations of the Smart Link Plus box throughout the month of August. Certification of Smart Link Plus for Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Challenger 650 and Global aircraft is expected in the coming months.

The Smart Link Plus connected aircraft program, including the Smart Link Plus box, was first introduced on the Bombardier flagship Global 7500 aircraft and customers continue to benefit from its advanced data-driven capabilities. More than 98% of current Global 7500 aircraft customers have enrolled in Smart Link Plus services, and the early-adopters of the new myMaintenance App have already begun to discover the benefits described above. ADB approves $235m to upgrade National Highway

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a 235 million dollars loan to upgrade the National Highway in Pakistan.

According to an ADB press statement, under this project, the 222 kilometer Shikarpur-Rajanpur section of National Highway (N55) will be expanded from two-lane into a four-lane carriageway.

The N55 is part of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor-5, which links the ports of Karachi and Gwadar in southern Pakistan with national and international economic centers to the north.

The project also includes construction of bus stops, emergency response centers, and traffic police facilities to ensure road safety enforcement and efficient post-crash response.

The loan is the second tranche of a multi-tranche financing facility, designed to provide technical and financial assistance for upgradation of N55 and enhancing capacity of the NHA.

The first tranche of 180 million dollars was approved in September 2017 to finance the improvement of three sections in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

Minister for Information condemns hand grenade attack on mourning procession in Bahawalnagar

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has condemned the hand grenade attack on a mourning procession in Bahawalnagar today.

In a statement, he said anti-state elements want to create chaos in the country during Moharram.

He said coward acts of terrorists cannot undermine our resolve against terrorism.

The Information Minister said anti-social elements will not succeed in their nefarious designs.

Rail service b/w Pakistan, Iran suspended after cargo train derailed in Chagai

The rail service between Pakistan and Iran was suspended after a cargo train derailed in Chagai.

According to Railway officials, the train was carrying rice from Quetta to Iranian city of Zahedan when it met the accident near Dalbandin.

Six bogies of the train derailed but no casualties were reported.

Railway officials dispatched a rescue team from Quetta to Dalbandin to begin repair and rehabilitation work and restore the rail service.

Bahawalnagar: At least two killed, 24 injured in hand grenade attack

At least two people were killed and twenty-four injured in a hand grenade attack at a mourning procession in Bahawalnagar on Thursday.

According to District Emergency Officer 1122 Bahawalnagar, Rao Sharafat Ali, the incident occurred when the mourning procession was passing through Jail Road.

He said the injured have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar.

Our Bahawalpur correspondent Sajjad Parvez reports that Punjab Minister for Zakat and Ushr Mian Shukat Ali Lalika visited the hospital where he inquired about the injured persons and also directed the health officials to provide them best available treatment facilities.
