Heat wave conditions likely during next 4 to 5 days: Met Office

Met Office says the day temperatures are likely to remain unusually high in most parts of the country during next 04 to 05 days.

Day temperatures in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Sindh and Eastern Balochistan are expected to rise significantly above normal. Occasional dust storm/dust raising winds may also occur in afternoon/evening during the period.

The heatwave is likely to be followed by the rain spell in upper and central parts of the country.

PM Shehbaz orders ensuring protection of privacy of cellular consumers

Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif has directed to ensure protection of privacy of cellular consumers as it is their fundamental constitutional right.

This was stated by the advisor to Prime Minister on strategic reforms, Salman Sufi during a meeting with Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in Islamabad on Saturday.

The Advisor said Prime Minister is committed to, not to allow any violation of these rights at any cost.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will review its privacy laws regarding data of the Cellular Consumers in the country.

The Authority started policy making process to block unwanted messages on the directives of the Prime Minister.

Balochistan Assembly adopts resolution regarding provision of budget to PTV Quetta

The session of Balochistan Assembly was held in Quetta on Saturday with Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Musakhel in the chair.

During the session, the Assembly unanimously passed a resolution which recommended provincial government to approach federal government to ensure provision of budget to PTV Quetta center for production of local programs to remove sense of deprivation of local artists.

The resolution was tabled by Member Provincial Assembly, Nasrullah Zehri.

Later, deputy speaker adjourned the session till Tuesday.

Sindh CM lays foundation stone of water scheme in Thar

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah laid foundation stone of water scheme in Thar through a 61 km pipeline from Nabisar to Vajihar today.

Addressing the ceremony, he said a canal being built for provision of 200 cusecs of water through a 61km pipeline from Nabisar to Vajihar.

He said a treatment plant will also be installed for treatment of 41 cusecs dirty water; moreover a modern control system for water supply will also be constructed.
