Four die in accident in Kuchlak area of Quetta

At least four people died and several others sustained critical injuries in a road accident in Kuchlak area of district Quetta on Friday.

According to media reports, a car collided with a truck coming from the opposite side on Kuchlak Bypass.

The locals of the area carried out the relief operation and took the injured to a nearby hospital.

Delegation of leading Russian universities meets SACM Sindh in Karachi

The Sindh Government has reserved five hundred acres of land to facilitate investors for foreign educational institutions in Karachi Education City.

This was stated by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Investment and Public Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar during a meeting with a delegation of seven leading Russian Universities in Karachi.

He said all necessary facilities will be provided at the Education City.

The visiting Russian delegation showed interest in establishing Russian Higher Education Campuses in Consortium and the Russian Culture Centre in foreign Universities enclave of Karachi Education City.

ATC awards death sentence to two in Dasu terrorist attack case

A special Anti-Terrorism Court handed over death sentence on 13 counts to each of the two accused in Dasu Hydro Power Project terrorist attack case.

The court also imposed 40 million rupees fine on the two convicted terrorists, besides awarding them a total of around 800 years of imprisonment.

The Special Court Judge Sajjad Ahmed Jan delivered the verdict in a camp court, established at Central Jail Haripur after completion of the case hearing where the two terrorists were found guilty.

The court also issued orders to release the four other accused for not being guilty.

All set to organize mother, child health week in Balochistan

Lady Health Workers Program with support of UNICEF, will organize mother and child health week from Monday till 19th of this month in Balochistan.

Addressing a meeting in Quetta, provincial Coordinator of the National Program for Lady Health Workers, Doctor Sami Kakar said during the week, various programs will be organized in all districts of the province.

He said children up to five years of age will be vaccinated with polio drops while mothers will be vaccinated against various diseases.

Diabetes awareness camp set up at Centaurus Mall in Islamabad

In connection with World Diabetes Day, which will be observed on Monday, an awareness health camp was set up at Centaurus Mall in Islamabad on Saturday.

Purpose of the camp is to highlight health issues encountered by a diabetic patient.

Besides free blood sugar test, blood pressure check and measurement of Body Mass Index doctors are providing free consultation to the walk-in patients.

On the occasion, talking to Radio Pakistan exclusively, Dr Ali Raza said diabetes is a prevalent disease in our society which usually remains unnoticed.

He said aim of this camp is to screen maximum people to detect diabetic patients who do not know about their disease. He said detecting diabetes early enables patients to control it without using medicines.

Dr Ali Raza said changing one’s life style may also help control diabetes.

The camp will continue to facilitate patients till this midnight.

11th edition of ‘IDEAS’ begins in Karachi from Nov 15

The 11th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar IDEAS-22 will be held in Karachi from the 15th to the 18th of this month under the auspices of Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO).

Talking to media men Director General DEPO, Defence Export Promotion Bureau Brigadier Naveed Azam Cheema said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the exhibition.

They said the exhibition will prove beneficial for boosting the export of the defence industry.

It was informed on the occasion that fifty two delegates from fifty one countries will participate in the exhibition.

Ashrafi hails govt’s initiative of withdrawing appeals challenging verdict against Riba

Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has appreciated the government’s decision to withdraw appeals challenging decision of Federal Shariah Court on abolition of riba.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, he emphasized the need to devise a comprehensive roadmap to abolish the riba completely from the country.

He said Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman will visit Pakistan soon.

He said political stability will ensure the Foreign Direct Investment worth thirty billion dollars from brotherly countries.

EC all set to hold free, fair LG polls in AJK on Nov 27: Sulehria

Chief Election Commissioner retired Justice Abdul Rashid Sulehria said that Election commission with strict security measures is all set to hold free and fair local government elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the 27th of this month.

Talking to PTV, he said that all arrangements have been completed to ensure impartial local bodies polls aimed at shifting the power to the people at the grassroots level.

He said that AJK’s progress is directly linked with the local government elections.

He said more than 11,000 candidates including females are participating in LB polls in AJK.
