De-worming drive to begin in KP from Monday

A five-day special deworming campaign will begin across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Monday, during which children from 5 to 14 years age will be given medicines to protect themselves from stomach worms.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has asked parents and teachers to extend cooperation to health department staff to make the campaign successful.

People welcome Radio Pakistan’s initiative of reviving live cricket commentary

People from all across the country have enthusiastically welcomed Radio Pakistan’s initiative of reviving live commentary on cricket matches after thirteen years.

They expressed these remarks while listening to the live Radio Pakistan’s commentary on the final match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup through loudspeakers in different cities of the country on Sunday.

Several Radio Pakistan stations had made arrangements to broadcast the commentary on the final match through audio power amplifiers in their localities. These PBC stations include Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Kohat, Bahwalpur, Sargodha, Multan, Mianwali, D.I.Khan, Hyderabad, Larkana, Loralai, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Gilgit.

While hearing the traditional sound of Radio Pakistan cricket commentary, people thronged to the venues and expressed their happiness over revival of their favourite sports feature of the national broadcaster.

In their remarks, they said the Radio Urdu commentary has a romance for them and they love to listen to it.

The citizens were of the view that in today’s busy life, it is very difficult to spare time to glue to television screens for the whole match; therefore, radio commentary is a needed activity on part of the national broadcaster today. They urged the government and the Radio Pakistan management to continue this activity during all cricket matches.

Earlier during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Radio Pakistan resumed airing live ball to ball commentary on medium wave channels.

Gilgit Baltistan govt approves project for computerization of land records

Gilgit Baltistan government has approved project for computerization of land records and draft law for this purpose.

The approval was accorded at a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani in Gilgit.

The meeting approved MoU between Govt of Gilgit Baltistan and Board of Revenue Punjab which is aimed to help for swift up-gradation and computerization of the land records.

The Government of Punjab shall extend technical cooperation, and give exposure visits and training to the GB officials.

Rally held in Dera Adam Khel to express solidarity with Pak Army

A rally was taken out in Dera Adam Khel on Sunday to express solidarity with Pakistan Army.

Addressing the rally, the speakers said the general public is standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan Army for defence and protection of the motherland.

They said peace has been restored in the country after meritorious sacrifices of the law enforcement agencies.

Indian Sikh yatrees visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal

The Indian Sikh yatrees, who are in Pakistan to attend the 553rd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib, visited Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal on Sunday and performed their religious rituals.

A documentary was also showed to the yatrees on the construction of Gurdwara Sahib.

On the occasion, the Sikh pilgrims appreciated the best accommodation, food and security arrangements made by the government for them. They also expressed pleasure over the love they received in Pakistan.

According to spokesman of Evacuee Trust Property Board, after a day-long stay in Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, the yatrees would return to Lahore tomorrow (Monday).
