Punjab Govt taking measures to promote IT: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi says the government is taking all possible steps to promote Information Technology in the province.

He was talking to a delegation from the United Kingdom, who called on him in Lahore on Sunday.

The Chief Minister said people can avail thirty different types of government services at home through Go Punjab app.

Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to combat terrorism: FO

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to combat terrorism.

In a statement on Sunday, she said that we have seen reports that Islamic State Khorasan Province (IS-KP) has accepted responsibility for the terrorist attack on the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul.

She said we are verifying the veracity of these reports independently and in consultation with the Afghan authorities.

The Spokesperson said the terrorist attack is yet another reminder of the threat that terrorism poses to peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region. She said we must act resolutely with all our collective might to defeat the menace of terrorism.

PR receives first batch of modern coaches from China: Saad

Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique says Pakistan Railways has received the first batch of 46 high-speed modern coaches from China.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, he said these are completely built-units manufactured in China.

The Minister said Pakistan Railways will begin manufacturing 184 similar coaches at its own carriage factory in Islamabad, after transfer of the technology from China.

India has usurped all basic rights of IIOJK people: GA Gulzar

Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, has deplored that India is subjecting the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to the worst brutalities for demanding their internationally-recognized right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar said one million Indian troops are enjoying unbridled powers under draconian laws committing grave human rights violations in the territory making the life of the besieged Kashmiris a hell.

The APHC leader appealed the international community to hold India accountable for its brutal actions in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, Indian troops continued their cordon and search operations in different areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu. The residents of these areas said during these operations the troops barged into residential houses, terrorized the inmates including women and children and vandalize the household goods.

On the other hand, Jinko Gotoh, who was part of the five-member jury for the International Competition at the International Film Festival of India, in a statement posted on her twitter handle has maintained that she and two of her fellow jurors stand by the remarks made by jury head, Nadav Lapid, that The Kashmir Files is a propaganda movie.
